HOPCo acquires Stryker’s health system orthopedic service operations

Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo), a leading provider of musculoskeletal value-based healthcare services, has reportedly announced the acquisition of Stryker Performance Solutions’ health system orthopedic service business, Bundled Payment for Care Improvement Initiative.

As per the agreement, the company will gain rights to convener & orthopedic analytics subscription business lines of SPS, alongside Episode Performance Manager, outcome management software, and clinically integrated network of Stryker, cited sources close to the matter stated that.

David Jacofsky, Managing Director at Healthcare Outcomes Performance Co., mentioned in a comment that the company has been delivering alternative payment models and has partnered with physician groups, payers, and hospitals to deploy programs in an effort to enhance patient outcomes while reducing the cost to improve stakeholder’s financial services.

He further added that the recent acquisition will help the firm to offer better healthcare services as well as musculoskeletal management programs to the existing as well as new clients of HOPCo and SPS in the U.S.

Brian McCrone, Vice President of SPS, reportedly said that the joint venture will help the firm to focus on expansion of their Mako Program Analytics services as well as support the its future efforts with martRobotics.

SPS intends to help healthcare facilities realize the potential of Mako SmartRobotics and offer solutions in order to allow patient engagement and better decision making, Brian added.

If sources are to be believed, this acquisition has enabled HOPCo to become one of the largest conveners of the MSK bundle payment programs, while being a major orthopedic service lines manager in the U.S., with capacity of 100 hospitals as well as physician practice customers.

In addition, the company will also be licensing orthopedic Hospital Reported Outcomes analytics solutions and RecoveryCoach in order to offer better services and additional tools to their customers.
