MG Motors India allies with Devnandan Gases to boost oxygen production

MG Motors India has recently announced its partnership with Devnandan Gases, a Gujarat-based oxygen gas producer, to boost the production of medical oxygen. The announcement comes as the nation reels in an acute shortage of oxygen tanks stemmed from the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

President and Managing Director at MG Motors India, Rajeev Chaba reportedly said that the company is concentrating on supporting the nation’s fight against the ongoing pandemic and added that MG Motors plans to augment the volume of oxygen produced as a part of its social responsibility.

MG will also help in the overall expansion of infrastructure while incorporating critical principles to eliminate relevant losses. The move is projected to accelerate the overall oxygen production by over 25% during the upcoming weeks. Moreover, the company is looking to double the production levels soon.

The owner of Devnandan gases, Vijaybhai Thakkar was quoted saying that the alliance would allow for efficient scaling of production as the two companies reap the benefit of synergy to boost output. He further expressed gratitude towards MG Motors for taking the initiative to support this noble cause.

Mr. Chaba also reiterated that MG Motors had followed a similar approach to help stabilize the ventilator production at Vadodara’s Max Ventilators plant in 2020. The automaker’s current focus is on increasing the production of much-needed medical oxygen tanks in the region. He also thanked the local administration for providing continued guidance and support in the effort.

In other news, India has geared up for a tough battle against the COVID -19 pandemic by calling the Indian Armed Forces (IAF) into action, cited sources with relevant information.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made a plea to the IAF to be in close contact with state governments and ordered airlifting crucial equipment, medical supplies as well as medical personnel to critically affected areas across the nation.
