NetApp reveals partnership with Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team

American hybrid cloud data services and data management company NetApp has announced to have signed a multi-year joint venture agreement with the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One team to support the automotive giant prepare for its return to Formula 1 racing.

The partnership with NetApp will provide Aston Martin’s F1 team an innovative approach to racing by using data-driven technologies, cited sources with relevant information. The partnership with NetApp will strengthen the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One group’s efforts to acquiring the best out of cloud solutions.

This ambitious and broad partnership will emphasize maximizing performance on and off the track. For those unaware, the British automaker is returning to Formula One racing after more than 60 years of absence.

Chief Marketing Officer at NetApp, James Whitemore, was reported saying that the company is looking forward to team up with Aston Martin’s Formula One racing team. He added that by leveraging years of data-driven experience and innovation, NetApp will be able to support the U.K.-based racing team to push the boundaries of continuous performance beyond the finish line.

Meanwhile, CEO and Team Director at Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Otmar Szafnauer mentioned that apart from having Cognizant as an official partner, an alliance with NetApp will reflect on the team’s efforts towards continuous improvement.

Formula One teams have always pioneered in evaluating data to acquire a competitive lead, especially when milliseconds can make a difference. Szafnauer further claimed that the partnership will allow the racing team to constantly evolve to be smarter and faster.

An alliance with NetApp will also allow the British racing team to maximize resource utilization as well as eliminate inefficient data silos. Sources confirmed that It will help in redirecting expensive IT investments towards developing a competitive car.
