Pivotal acquires Akcelis to accelerate clinical development procedure

Pivotal, a full-service contract research organization (CRO), has reportedly acquired Akcelis BVBA, one of the leading players in patient recruitment, engagement, and retention, to offer its existing and future clients with patients’ recruitment expertise.

Sources cite that this acquisition would enable Pivotal to leverage Ackelis’ experience in recruiting and retaining unique patients in hard-to-recruit clinical trials across many therapeutic areas. The company would utilize Akcelis analytics-driven services to manage patients´ recruitment lifecycle, from enrollment, recruitment to retention.

These services would utilize proprietary, innovative, and highly predictive software analytics to tailor the most effective and cost-efficient approach to recruit patients for clinical trials.
