AT&T and Nexstar end dispute stations restored to U-verse and DirecTV
  • The stations went offline on July 3 at 11.59 pm local time after AT&T and Nexstar were not able to make an agreement.
  • The new agreement between two companies allows 120 stations, including NBC, CBS, FOX and ABC affiliate stations, to get back on AT&T platforms and DirecTV.

AT&T and Nexstar, the US telecommunication companies ended their dispute to get back into an agreement for their customers. The new agreement between two companies allows 120 stations, including NBC, CBS, FOX and ABC affiliate stations, to get restored back on AT&T TV and U-Verse platforms and DirecTV as well.

Access to Nexstar stations is being restored to AT&T U-Verse and DirecTV platforms after a hiatus of eight weeks. The stations went offline on July 3 at 11.59 pm local time after AT&T and Nexstar were not able to make an agreement.

AT&T Communications Senior Vice President for programming and content, Rob Thun stated that the company’s customers want more value and choice and the company is pleased to deliver those using the new agreement with Nexstar and its several local stations,

Senior Vice President of distribution at Nexstar Media Group Inc., Keith Hopkins stated that this agreement would allow Nexstar Media to continue presenting the company’s stations’ leading network and local news as well as sports content and other programming for subscribers of AT&T in Nexstar’s market.

CBS and AT&T cleared a three-week dispute earlier in the month. Over 200 industry-wide blackouts have happened in 2019 which is highest for a year, as stated by AT&T this was a 20% rise over the 165 recorded blackouts in 2018.
