Blue Prism advances its cloud strategy by acquiring Thoughtonomy

Blue Prism, a UK based multinational software company, recently declared to acquire UK-headquartered fast-growing technology company, Thoughtonomy. The buyout is likely to close by July 2019, claim sources.

The integration of this AI technology company will turn out to be advantageous for Blue Prism, owing to its consistent performance over the last few years. For the record, Thoughtonomy has registered more than 250% growth over the last three years and has an extended customer base spanning four continents.

Through this strategic acquisition, Blue Prism will strengthen its connected-RPA platform with Thoughtonomy’s SaaS capabilities that will further help to enhance digital worker deployment spanning various market segments. In this regard, Co-founder and CEO of Blue Prism, Alastair Bathgate stated that the acquisition would support a broader strategy to strengthen their portfolio with cloud offerings delivering value and improved customer experience.

This move by the automation behemoth is not a hasty pronouncement; it had been working with Thoughtonomy’s workforce since 2013, say reports. Post the announcement of this agreement, CEO and Founder of Thoughtonomy, Terry Walby shared information about their collective work experience stating that together, they plan to broaden and simplify access to innovative digital workforce capabilities.

The combination of Blue Prism’s connected-RPA platform and Thoughtonomy’s award-winning, secure SaaS capabilities will accelerate the pace of automation projects and enhance customer experience without having to require setting up dedicated support infrastructure, claim reliable sources.

In the last few years, many technology companies have shifted their focus on RPA based process automation which will help Blue Prism reach across new segments of the market, in addition to improving its presence in business verticals like healthcare.

It would be interesting to see how both the firms will build a partner network that will drive customer adoption across the fields covering telecom, retail, insurance, pharmaceutical, healthcare, energy, financial services, utilities, and public sector.
