DCN adds new SD-WAN service to boosts enterprise network connectivity

SD-WAN technology is expected to witness an extraordinary growth in coming years. Some factors behind the market growth are better cloud connectivity, cost-effectivity, and reduction of OPEX. Various broadband, internet services providers are increasingly turning towards SD-WAN technology owing to its benefits and growing popularity among customers.

Dakota Carrier Network (DCN), a leading provider of broadband, ethernet, and internet services in North Dakota, reportedly announced the addition of next-gen SD-WAN (software-defined wide area network) services to it enterprise networking solution portfolio.

This would now enable governmental entities and businesses to centralize control of their respective branches to provide embedded security, enhanced application performance, and private/public cloud integration.

Powered by Nokia Corporation’s Nuage Networks SD-WAN 2.0 technology, transport-agnostic SD-WAN service of DCN seamlessly integrates into the clients’ existing network configurations. The configuration further provides connectivity on any transport underlay, which also includes internet, carrier ethernet, LTE or wavelength services.

This flexibility enables consumers to have a seamless and unified network with a simplified level of management, particularly at a significant cost-effective rate. Delivered like a managed service, the company’s highly trained technicians undertake the implementation as well as ongoing network maintenance for customers of SD-WAN.

Jesse Heck, Director of Operations at DCN stated that as a connectivity solution, SD-WAN solution is predicted to rapidly grow in popularity since it has the ability to make a cohesive WAN (wide area network) which is comprised of a diverse array of transport services.

Heck added that as an analogy, SD-WAN could be viewed like a multi-faceted tool, its flexibility indicates it as useful in varied network configurations.

CEO and Founder of Nuage Networks, Sunil Khandekar stated that the company is delighted to collaborate with DCN to enable it to deliver next-gen SD-WAN services to its government, business, and wireless customers.

Khandekar further added that by using the Nuage Networks SD-WAN 2.0 platform, customers of DCN can make a dynamic and highly scalable network, providing them enhanced connectivity to all public clouds and branches. DCN’s customers would experience unrivaled security, control and insight as they transform their respective networks, making them more efficient and decrease operational overhead.
