Samsung Electronics launches new series of high-resolution monitors

South Korea-based multinational electronics giant Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has reportedly launched a series of new high-resolution monitors to boost its sales amidst the rising trend of online learning and working remotely.

According to reliable sources, twelve new-age Samsung monitors across three series-S6, S7, S8 are being released worldwide. All the apparent models will include a 178-degree wide viewing angle, enhanced High Dynamic Range 10 technology as well as more than 1 billion colors.

The S8 series is available in two sizes-27 inches and 32 inches. In this context, Samsung stated that this monitor series can offer ultra-high definition (UHD) resolution with a 99 percent sRGB color range for buyers. Additionally, it is capable enough to transmit 10 gigabits of data per second through its USB C type port.

Just like the S8 series, the S7 will also be available in 27 inches and 32 inches, while offering enhanced UHD resolution. Its borderless design and ultra-slim stand will set it apart from the other models, Samsung claimed.

The S6 models, on the other hand, will be available in two additional sizes – 24 inches and 34 inches. These models will be able to provide Quad High Definition (QHD), picture in picture (PIP), and picture by picture (PBP) features.

Reportedly, 10 out of the 12 newly released models are likely to be priced between USD 400 and USD 600 in South Korea.

Samsung mentioned that the newly launched monitor series will feature an exceptional eye-saver mode which helps in reducing blue light emissions. The electronics giant further added that these high-resolution monitors have also been awarded the Intelligent Eye Care Certification issued by TUV Rheinland AG, which is basically a technical test service and certification organization from Germany.

If market speculations are correct, Samsung Electronics was ranked 5th largest PC monitor vendor, accounting for approximately 8.6% market share. It has shipped around 11.7 million units of monitors in 2020, which is a 30.6% increase as compared to its previous sales in 2019.
